The Multi-Cultural Family Service Center's Highlight of the Month
February 12, 2013

The Multi-cultural Family Service Center (MFSC) has celebrated its third wedding ceremony of the year 2012. On 13th November, Daniel Kato and Faith Kabasinguzi, both from Uganda, walked down the aisle with songs of jubilation and praise as they decided to tie their matrimonial knot after a long period of staying together out of wedlock. The wedding function followed Daniel and Faith’s acceptance of Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of their life in a baptismal ceremony that was conducted by the pastoral team of the Center and witnessed by the entire Center Church some couple of weeks earlier.

The colorful wedding ceremony was celebrated and officiated over by the Director of the Center, Pastor Kim Young Soo, with the assistance of his Associate Director, Pastor JeonKyoung Chun. The joyous and festive ceremony was attended and witnessed by the members of the Multi-cultural Family Church and other invited guests and friends of the couple.

After the Church service, the newly wedded happy couple welcomed their guests to a sumptuous wedding diner that was organized with the assistance of Center Cafeteria staff. It was a time of jubilation, fellowship and unity.

Prior to this event, the Multi-cultural Family Service Center was once again visited by a medical team from LA Korean Central Church. This team has 30 members. Every year this team chooses a country to render their service. Last year they were in Danyang and the year before they went to Wando, Korea.  This year, they chose MCFSC of Ansan City in particular.

They had their service on the 30th of October until the 3rd of November, 2012. Especially, on the second day of the service, the mayor of Ansan city visited MFSC and encouraged the entire members. For the whole week of their stay here, they served around 100 people daily from 1-5 in the afternoon and 7-10 at night. The foreigners as well as Koreans availed the free Dental, Internal, General surgery, Oriental medicine, Chiropractic medicine, Foot massage and other general check up. Both young and old people were satisfied with the team’s service who handled them with TLC (Tender Loving Care). Every patient received a gift from the team and from the center after their treatment. More or less than 700 people availed the service.

During the Sabbath, the church members were inspired by the team through music and testimonies. We give back the glory and honor to God for the success of this medical mission. We also thank God for this team who unselfishly devoted their time for the work of the master.

Moreover, on December 5, 2012 MFSC got a special award from the Minister of Ministry of Gender Equality and Family in the capacity of local program for the immigrants. This award is given to the top organization which has performed the program successfully in cooperation with Ministry of Gender Equality and Family among 50 organizations throughout the country. We deeply appreciate what God has done in us and trough us.
