The Golden Angels, which comprises seven members and is attached to the Northern Asia-Pacific Division, was formed in January 1, 2004. They have volunteered to take part in this singing group for on year.
They assist nearly twenty evangelistic meetings this year in Japan, Taiwan, Mongolia, Korea and Hong Kong. They also visit and deliver hope though music to students in schools, patients in hospitals, seniors in nursing homes, children in orphanages, prisoners in jails, soldiers in the army, and church members in churches and camp meetings.
The main reason the Golden Angels was organized is to support the missionaries of the Pioneer Mission Movement (PMM) in their evangelism. The PMM initially sent five missionaries with their family members to Japan in 2003. This year, 10 missionaries were sent to Japan and Taiwan. Seventeen PMM missionaries will be sent to Japan, Taiwan, Mongolia, Hong Kong, and other places yearly from 2005.
The Northern Asia-Pacific (NSD) is the biggest among 13 divisions in population holding more than 1.5 billion people, which is one-fourth of the people in the world. But there are comparatively few Adventists in the NSD. The ratio of Adventists to the world population is 1:3,045. The ratio shows that the NSD is the most challenged division in the world. A lot of areas in the division are left unchurched. The Pioneer Mission Movement is sending out pastors in the division as missionaries to these area. This movement, led by the Holy Spirit, is backed by the sacrifices and prayers of the church members and the self-sacrificing spirit of the missionary families.
