Farewell and Welcome
for Tadaomi & June Shinmyo and Kwon JohngHaeng

Farewells are unpleasant events that most, if not everyone, would not want to look forward to. But it is something that is inevitable in each person's life. Some relationships/fellowships may last and some do end, at least temporarily for Christians who await the soon return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Dr. Tadaomi and
June Shinmyo

On July 3 at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, a farewell party was held for Dr. Tadaomi and June Shinmyo at the NSD Chapel. In attendance were all NSD staff and their respective families.

Dr. Shinmyo has served at the Division for seven years in the following capacities: Communications Director for Asia-Pacific Division for six months; Associate Secretary for four years and as Communications/PARL/Publishing director for Northern Asia-Pacific Division for six-and-a-half years. Tomoko Shinmyo served for seven years also as an Accounting Clerk of the Asia-Pacific Division for six months and for Northern Asia-Pacific Division for six-and-a-half years.

While both Dr. Shinmyo and June enjoyed the convenience of their stay here at the Northern Asia-Pacific Division, they are happy to return to their home Union to help the work of the Japan Union Conference. Their wish is that the NSD would continue to push the gospel work forward.

Pastor Kwon JohngHaeng

They depart for Japan on July 17, 2003. The NSD family is certainly sad to see them go. Their happy disposition and dedication to the work at the NSD (although they will be working under the same umbrella) will be surely missed. We wish them God's continued guidance and protection as they pick up their new responsibilities.

In conjunction with the Farewell party Pastor Kwon JohngHaeng and family were welcomed to the NSD family. Pastor Kwon joined the NSD work force on July 1, 2003 as Director for Stewardship and Associate Ministerial Association Secretary. He will also be coordinating for Global Mission, Pioneer Mission Movement, and Year of Evangelism 2004. He was formerly with the Korean Conference as Director for Overseas Mission. Pastor Kwon's commitment and dedication will be of great help in the work at the NSD territory.
