The 3rd Group of the PMM Dedicational Service
On November 6 in connection with the 100 Celebration of Adventist Church in Korea
On November 6, 2004, in connection with the centennial celebration of the
Adventist
Church
in
Korea
, there was a dedicational service for 15 Korean families of the 3rd group of the Pioneer Mission Movement (PMM). They will dedicate their lives to planting churches for next 6 years in other countries including
Japan
,
Taiwan
,
Mongolia
and others.
As the historical event of the 100 years of mission in
Korea
, the celebration brought more than 15,000 members to the Olympic stadium, and it was broadcasted live through both satellite and internet. The PMM dedicational ceremony was meaningful to all the Church members in
Korea
because they are sending their people to other countries as pioneer missionaries just as they had received from the outside during the last century.
At the words of encouragement, “We are a church that has a passion for mission. We believe that we are to be partners with heaven proclaiming hope in Jesus to every person in the world” said Dr. Michael L. Ryan, a general vice president of the world church and director of Global Mission. “The Pioneer Missionary Movement was born in the spirit of mission and calls to service all those committed to proclaiming the everlasting gospel… They are committed to introducing people to Jesus, introducing people to forgiveness, introducing people to the Bible, introducing people to wholeness and a new life of service and introducing people to eternal life,” added Dr. Ryan.
“There are around 1.5 billion, or 1/4 population of the world in the Northern Asia-Pacific Division territory. However, the only 3 percent of the total in this region is Christianity. The PMM was launched in order to plant churches in this wilderness for the Gospel,” said Dr. Jairyong Lee, president of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division. “Today, all of you deserve being called by the name, “Missionary” who is the most noble, holy, and honorable. The missionary work for sharing the gift of the eternal life from God is the most blessed and worth…I wish all of you trust only in the Lord putting everything on His Hands, and leave for the great journey of missionary,” said Dr. Lee with encouragement to the PMM families.
“Jesus is coming again. He looks to us to tell everyone that they are welcome in His kingdom. He died for people in
Korea
,
Japan
,
Taiwan
,
China
,
Mongolia
, and every other country. Thank you for being willing to go to these countries to speak the words of Jesus to the people there. The Holy Spirit will be with you,” said Dr. Don C. Schneider, president of the North American Division of the
Adventist
Church
at the dedicational service.
Pastor Ahn Hae Soo read the dedicational oath on behalf of the 15 PMM families during the service. He said, “I will offer my life to the Lord just as “Drink Offering” in the Bible for spreading the gospel of the God’s grace. I will be the forever-missionary walking with the Lord, giving the first priority to the work of hastening the coming of Jesus who finished His mission with His death.”
In the Next year, 2005, 15 pastors with 41 of their family members which is the 3rd group of the PMM are going to be sent to other countries including
Japan
,
Taiwan
,
Mongolia
, and others. Since 2003, the Northern Asia-Pacific Division has sent 15 PMM missionaries to
Japan
and
Taiwan
.
