2005 Literature Evangelists' Retreat in Japan

Within sight of the famous Mt. Fuji, about 90 Seventh-day Adventist Literature Evangelists met for a retreat, February 10 – 13, 2005. Meeting in the Hakoneland Hotel gave the participants an opportunity to breath the fresh mountain air as well as receive the spiritual blessing they came to receive.

The opening devotional message was given by Elder Takashi Shirashi, the Japan Union Conference president. He also presented the Sabbath morning message stressing the Unity in Christ that each of us must have.

A report of the publishing work in the Northern Asia-Pacific Division territories was given by Elder Glenn Mitchell, NSD publishing director. Elder Tadashi Yamaji, JUC publishing director also gave a report of the work in Japan. The Literature Evangelist’s report was given by Yoshikatsu Nakamura. Those in attendance were encouraged by the growth of the literature work in Japan.

During the ceremony presenting awards for years of service, Mr. Michiya Yuda and Mrs. Toyoko Yuda were especially honored. Mr. Yuda has spent the past 55 years serving the Lord in the literature ministry, while his wife, Toyoko, has given 50 years of service.
