The Adventist Church was spotlighted in some news media in Korea during April and May after the 2004 centennial celebrations.
April 28, a daily economic newspaper, ‘The Herald Business,’ exposed the Seventh-day Adventists to the public using a whole page. It selected the Adventist church among churches in Korea as an ‘Elite Church’ for the year 2005.
In an interview with ‘The Herald Business’, Pastor Hong, Myung Kwan, president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Korea, said, “The Adventists have a strong certainty of faith with one-worldwide unity. It is known that their spiritual lives are rational and reasonable.”
‘The Herald Business’ is one of the three nationwide newspapers published by ‘Herald Media Inc.: The Herald Business, The Korea Herald, and The Junior Herald. The Herald Business is the successor of ‘The Naeway Economic Daily’ which was originally launched in 1973, currently ranking in third place among the economic daily newspaper in Korea.
Additionally, in May, the mission and activities of the Adventist Church in Korea as well as the more than 10-million worldwide Adventist Church were run as the cover story of a monthly magazine, ‘Digital Age Korean News.’ The magazine noted "The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a worldwide Protestant evangelistic church.”
