Total Immersion SDA Language School Summer Bible Camp,“Jesus Is Practical”

The Lord’s abundant blessings are given to people who come to His Word, Jesus! July 14-17, ‘Total Immersion in the Bible’ brought the power of the Holy Spirit to more than 14,000 participants in a summer camp sponsored by the SDA Language School in Korea.

The students, teachers, and workers of the language school gathered at Howon University in Kunsan City to experience the summer showers of the Holy Spirit. A them was ‘Jesus is Practical,’ and the main target of the bible camp was students who learn English, Japanese, or Chinese at the SDA institutes.

Ninety seven new souls got baptized receiving Jesus Christ as their personal savior during the bible festival. “Jesus is practical, knowing and controlling the future as well as the past of everyone,” said Pastor Hyveth Williams during her sermons at the meeting, who is Pastor of Lomalinda Campus Hill Church. “He understands all our experiences and problems. If we give our heart to Jesus completely, He will surely accept them.”

At the same time with the programs for the students who are learning English, there was each meeting for people who learn Japanese and Chinese. “All of us are valuable and precious to God,” said Pastor Mutsuo Kita at his presentation during the meeting for the Japanese language school students. Pastor Kita is currently pastoring at Okinawa Ishikawa Church in Japan.

The participants were attracted to 18 programs with native speaking teachers, including the worship, small group discussions, cultural performances, Korean traditional games, prophecy seminars, and translation/interpretation. The integrated programs provided the students with an efficient method for learning foreign languages as well as the Bible.

The language school president, Kim, Si Young welcomed the people, saying “I wish you will get joyful and valuable fruits enjoying the various programs. You may have a meaningful opportunity to begin a new life in His Word.”

The SDA language school bible camp meetings have been held twice a year, summer and winter. More than 1,000 people get together and an average of 100 new souls gets baptized during the each camp meeting.
