“I came back from Japan two days ago. There, the Japanese Governmental Officers took me to Hakone where I saw the beautiful symmetrical Mt. Fuji,” said the Minister Puntsag TSAGAAN, Government of Mongolia Ministry of Science, Technology, Education and Culture of Mongolia, when I dined with him at a Chinese restaurant near the Mongolian government building on March 21, 2005. This was a good icebreaker since I am Japanese.

Among us were Pastor Elbert Kuhn, Education Director of the Mongolian Mission Field, Mr. Jargel Munk, ADRA Mongolia, and Mrs. Otgontuya Tserenpil (Mrs. Bold) who is finishing her study in education at AIIAS October, 2005.

The Mongolia Mission Field is already operating a nursery school and in the near future, they are interested in opening up the first kindergarten and the elementary school. “The salvation and education is one,” says Ellen G. White, in the book of Education. For the development and the growth of Christ’s church, evangelism and education are inseparable. They go hand in hand and they must!

Minister Puntsag TSAGAAN said, “I am willing to be of any assistance to help you.” I would like to extend my sincere gratitude for President Dale Tunnell, Pastor Elbert Kuhn, Mr. Jargel Munk, and Director Juby Llewellyn, ADRA Mongolia for doing an excellent job in association with the Mongolian government.

"The NSD Education Department shall assist in the initiation of new schools and nurture the elements that help schools to become orderly and productive places where the Holy Spirit and angels desire to dwell.

"This is a part of the Mission Statement of the NSD Education Department and the education department’s strategic plan authorized for the period of 2001-2005. Presently we have close to 6,000 Adventist Schools in the World. We would like to celebrate the birth of the first kindergarten and elementary school in Mongolia soon.

Teachers and students of our Adventist elementary schools in Japan pooled their human and financial resources and to help establish the first Adventist kindergarten and elementary school in Mongolia. The initial donation in 2005 amounted to $13,500.00. Just a mustard seed! But by God’s grace, who knows what that small seed will do for God’s glory and the service of the community in Mongolia? After all, Adventist education is evangelism.
