Sahmyook Foods Achieve ISO 22000

Korean Sahmyook Food Company achieved the ISO 22000 certification as evidence of the factory’s efficient and well-documented food and food safety management systems.

It is the first time that the ISO 22000 certification was issued to a Soymilk Factory in Korea since the system was introduced in September 2005. The ISO 22000 specifies requirements for a food safety management system where an organization in the food chain needs to demonstrate its ability to control food safety hazards in order to ensure that food is safe at the time of human consumption.

The standard builds on the internationally recognized HACCP principles (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) and ISO 9001 Quality Management. It focuses on safety management and communication up through the supply chain from suppliers to customers to ensure the highest possible food and food safety standard.
