Ilsan English Church Inaugurated
April 29, 2006, inauguration day for the new Ilsan English Church of Seventh-day Adventists, began a new mission out reach for the Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD).
The Ilsan English Church is the first planted church as an English-speaking specialized one among 30 churches which will be established within the next 10 years throughout the NSD territory.

“According to the Bible, Jesus will come again when the Gospel of the Kingdom is preached in all the world. All of us should be involved with this mission to hasten His coming. Church planting is not an Option but a Must,” said Dr. Jairyong Lee, NSD President at his keynote address during the inauguration service.
“This English Church project is a mission strategy coping with the changes of this century. If one English church has a membership of 200, 30 churches may reach 6,000 people such as professionals who can speak in English.”

Pastor Daniel Walter, senior pastor for this new church plant, presented the Sabbath morning sermon on Psalm 23. He is a retired missionary currently serving as an English language teacher for the SDA Language Institute as well. He is ably assisted in these church planting activities by Pastor Charleston (ChoungShik) Kim, associate pastor.
The celebrations began with NSD Mission Day, April 26, 2006. The NSD staff distributed some 1,600 invitation pamphlets on the streets around the office.
Friday evening, April 28, the Golden Angels singing group presented a concert to the public who had been invited. Around 120 people attended the concert in the newly constructed chapel on the seventh floor of the NSD building.
Congratulatory remarks were presented by Pyung Duk Chun, former NSD President, currently International Publishing Manager of the Adventist World; Sung Sun Hong, Korean Union Conference Ministerial Secretary and Chun Kwang Hwang, West Central Korean Conference (WCKC) President.
