On Sep 28~Oct 1, 2012, the Chinese Union Mission (CHUM) Youth Ministry held their 2nd CHUM Youth Leadership Conference at the Kenting National Park Youth Center. About 150 people participated from China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
The theme of the conference was “The Power of One.” Those attending shared their own testimony and listened to various sermons which would help them in their ministries. The titles of the various sermons were “Effective Ways to Train Disciples”, and “How to Make a Dynamic Small Group.” Dr. Foo, the main lecturer for the conference, preached about “The Real Life of the Adventist Youth.”
NakHyung Kim, the Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD) Youth Ministries Director, also emphasized the “Mission and Role of Youth Leaders” in this generation.
David Ng, President of the Chinese Union Mission, Steven Wu, President of the Taiwan Conference, as well as many other church leaders in China, made it their special mission to take part in this conference so that they could encourage youth leaders to work hard for the Kingdom of God.
When the CHUM Youth Leadership Conference meets, which is biennially, they tour each conference in China. The next conference is scheduled to take place in Nanjing, China in 2014.
