ENDITNOW Special Emphasis Day in Nepal

On August 24, 2024, ENDITNOW was a special emphasis day celebrated by the Himalayan Section of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Nepal. This worldwide initiative aims to raise awareness about the violence that women face in their lives—whether verbal, physical, mental, economic, or physiological. The goal is to educate women about their rights and how to protect themselves against abuse and violence. The initiative also advocates for equal treatment and legal protection for women.

ENDITNOW is a special initiative of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to create awareness both within church structures and beyond about the various forms of violence and abuse that women face.

The Women’s Ministries Department of the Himalayan Section observed ENDITNOW Special Emphasis Day on August 24, 2024. They organized various programs in different churches, including street marches and rallies featuring the NSD Campaign #BETHEVOICE, which reached every corner of Nepal. Women followed the Bible’s command: “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.” (Proverbs 31:8).

The sermon “GO FIND MY SHEEP” emphasized that abuse victims need to know that Jesus cares about them. “And that’s where we come in,” says Joanna Daniel, author of the 2024 resource packet “Go Find My Sheep.” The Shepherd is looking for people to go in search of the lost. He is looking for people who will minister as He does.

The day concluded with fellowship meals, leaving all the women with a renewed sense of spirit and hope.
