On November 4, 2024, at 5:30 PM, General Conference President Ted Wilson arrived at Incheon International Airport on Ethiopian Airlines Flight 672, accompanied by his wife, Nancy.
This marks Wilson’s first visit to Korea since 2019 and his first since the COVID-19 pandemic. During his nine-day visit, he will attend the Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD) Annual Council and the 120th Anniversary Commemoration of Adventist Missions in Korea.
NSD President Pastor Yo Han Kim, Secretary Yamaji, Treasurer Taesung Kim, Korean Union President Pastor Soonki Kang, and Secretary Jungtaek Park, as well as other representatives from the NSD and Korean Union Conference, were at the airport to greet them. Pastor Yo Han Kim welcomed the Wilsons on behalf of all the churches and members in the division, saying, “We warmly welcome President Wilson and his wife to Korea. We pray for a blessed and grace-filled stay during their time here.”
President Wilson expressed gratitude in response, saying, “Thank you for coming to greet us at the airport despite your busy schedules. During all the events and meetings, I hope we will keep our eyes on Jesus Christ and focus solely on the mission. May God’s wonderful plans and providence be fulfilled for the Northern Asia-Pacific Division and the Korean Church.”
The next day, President Wilson visited the NSD headquarters to encourage the leaders from eight countries to gather for the Pre-meeting. “I am grateful and thrilled to be here. Signs of Jesus’ soon return are appearing worldwide, and I am thankful that the NSD remains mission-focused during these times,” he said. Later, he enjoyed lunch in the division cafeteria and toured the facility, greeting staff members.
President Wilson is scheduled to participate in the NSD Annual Council in the coming days and will deliver a message at Sahmyook Central Church in the evenings.
